New from BVM is a five-port conduction cooled USB controller module for 32bit CompactPCI and VMEbus systems.

The PMCUSB2 is the first in BVM's new RoHS-compliant family of PCI mezzanine cards.

The PMCUSB2 features three front-panel USB ports.

In addition, two ports for internal communications are accessible either on the rear I/O on the PMC P4 connector, via a PICMG-compatible PIM, or on a 10-pin onboard connector.

Using the NEC uPD720101 controller, the PMCUSB2 is compatible with the OHCI (USB1) specification for 1.5 and 12Mbit/s data transfers and EHCI (USB2) specification for 480Mbit/s transfers, ensuring that drivers are available for most operating systems.

Power is supplied to each port via an LM3526 power switch providing regulation and overcurrent protection.

The PMCUSB2 has a 0 to 70C environmental specification, with provision for conduction cooling where required.

As a specialist designer of customised embedded industrial solutions, BVM believes it is ahead of competitors in offering RoHS-compliant PMC product.

With a sales network servicing export business representing 40% of turnover, the company is well placed to supply OEMs and systems integrators targeting EU markets.

BVM's quality system is certified to ISO9001:2000.
