BVM has introduced an ultra-slim, fanless panel PC, with environmental protection to IP65/NEMA4, for industrial control and kiosk applications.

Claimed by BVM to be the slimmest of its kind on the market, WLP Series PCs cover a range from 6.4in to 15in screen size (17in to come) At the lower end, front-to-back measurement is only 38mm including bezel, and only 68mm for the 15in version

The PCs feature a high-brightness, high-resolution 8-wire resistive touch screen.

The industrial-grade, high-reliability motherboard and thermal management are specifically designed for systems operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Reliability is enhanced by the fanless design, preventing dust ingress.

Features of the WLP Series include a choice of CPUs from VIA Eden 733/C3 1GHz to Socket 478 Pentium-M/Celeron-M 1.8GHz, including low-power options, with 256/512MB RAM and AGP4X graphics.

I/O options including USB2.0, CF, 10/100base-T Ethernet, audio, MiniPCI and PCMCIA are all arrayed on one side of the PC.

A 20Gbyte HDD, vibration damper for the HDD, and tempered glass screen are options.

Security of unattended operations is assured by a watchdog timer which automatically reboots in the event of a software lock-up.

The PXE boot capability allows update of networked PCs from a remote server.

Employing the flexible VESA standard for mounting holes, WLP Series PCs can be installed in most industrial and kiosk applications.

BVM can incorporate these PCs in customised embedded systems.
