DIN-rail mounting interface module
A DIN-rail mounting interface module with four opto-isolated channels can be configured independently for AC or DC operation.
Camden Electronics, a leading UK provider of PCB terminal blocks, has launched a new DIN-rail mounting interface module featuring four opto-isolated channels that can be configured independently for AC or DC operation Using standard parts from Camden's interface support range, the new CIM/OPTO4 interface module can either be DIN rail mounted or wall mounted using a pair of chassis clips

Designed for ease of wiring and maintenance, each module features four independent isolated channels that are configurable in any selection of modes for both inputs and outputs.
Each channel has an on-board LED indicator to confirm correct input operation.
A pluggable link is used to select between a wide range of AC or DC voltage inputs.
DC range is 24 to 400V (polarity insensitive) and on AC the range is 24 to 265V.
Each channel output has floating Darlington transistors rated at 300V DC/150mA, maximum power 150mW.
These are NPN devices and are suitable for pull-down operations (correct polarity to be observed).
Input to output isolation is 2kV DC.
Commenting on the new interface modules, Ian Alexander, Camden's Sales Director, says, "The mix-and-match capability over the four channels delivers great flexibility and allows users to make the best use of available supply rails and facilities in any given application".
"Isolation and noise-reduction of inter-system wiring in machine control is a typical application and the new modules are also ideal for use as voltage-level shifters in machine logic or drive panel LED indicators".
"At lower output voltages, there is sufficient current drive available to pull medium sized relays".
Camden's new CIM/OPTO4 extends the company's range of DIN rail interface modules that encompasses single-pole relays, 2-, 4-, 8- and 16-pole relays, IDC connectors, sub-miniature 'D' connectors, diode and component modules and fuse modules.
Empty modular interface supports for 72 and 107mm wide PCBs can also be supplied in versatile snap-fit kit form.
