Cadence Design Systems has appointed Alexander Duesener as Group Director of Marketing for the company's activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Cadence Design Systems has appointed Alexander Duesener as Group Director of Marketing for the company's activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Duesener will hold overall responsibility for platform, product, kits and corporate marketing in EMEA

Duesener joined Cadence as Technical Advisor to Ajay Malhotra, Senior Vice President of Marketing.

In this role he was instrumental in helping to define and drive implementation of innovative marketing strategies around core products and new strategic initiatives such as Cadence kits for vertical markets and product segmentation.

Before joining Cadence, Duesener spent more than 6 years at Intel, where his most recent role was Technical Advisor to Abhi Talwalkar, former Vice President and co-General Manager of the Digital Enterprise Group.

Prior to that he worked for Mike Fister who managed Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group at the time.

Duesener holds a double diploma in European business studies including a BA (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University (UK) and a diploma in MBA from Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany).

Tim Barnes, in his new role as Vice President of Platform Strategy, will lead a newly formed group with worldwide responsibility for long-range platform and product strategy.
