Amalfi Semiconductor has used the Cadence AMS Methodology Kit to more efficiently manage product development and reduce costs.

Amalfi Semiconductor, a developer of high-performance, CMOS RF and mixed-signal semiconductors for the cellular industry, has used the Cadence Analog Mixed Signal (AMS) Methodology Kit to more efficiently manage product development and reduce costs By using this Cadence Kit, Amalfi was able to integrate, simulate and verify complete designs more efficiently, from the system and behaviour-level, down to the transistor-level

"The Cadence AMS Kit gave us the opportunity to apply pre-existing end-to-end mixed-signal design examples to some of our complex problems in integrating RF, analogue and digital circuits into an IC", said Tuan Nguyen, Vice President of Engineering at Amalfi Semiconductor.

"As a startup company developing industry-leading RF CMOS products, having prescribed methodologies and flows helps our engineering teams decide which Cadence products to use for different parts of the verification process".

"In one specific case, our team was able to reduce the overall simulation time from a matter of days to only hours using the Cadence kit".

Cadence kits enable IC designers to accelerate segment-specific product development.

Cadence kits address design challenges in market segments such as wireless, wired networking and consumer applications by combining verified methodologies and flows, with IP, demonstrated on a segment-representative design and packaged with applicability consulting.

By using Cadence kits, customers can focus their precious design resources on design differentiation rather than developing design infrastructure.
