Amsterdam Bluetooth demo shows web-based control
A web-based remote controller for a DVD player has provided the first ever demonstration of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) running over Bluetooth wireless technology.
CSR's BlueCore chip has been selected by MSI for the Bluetooth part because of its stability and compatibility as well as its compact design and low cost.
The new combo module will support both Wireless LAN 802.11b and Bluetooth to enable a desktop PC to be easily and wirelessly connected to a wide range of devices including high-speed network access (up to 11Mbit/s) using 802.11b and low power connection to a wireless desktop (such as mouse, keyboard, PDA, printer), PANs (personal area networks) and cellular phones and modems via dial-up networking using Bluetooth.
Earlier this year CSR cooperated with MSI to bring Bluetooth onto the motherboard for the first time.
Joseph Hsu, president and CEO, MSI commented, "CSR's ultra-compact and low-cost BlueCore was the obvious choice because it meets these requirements and more".
