LitePoint Corp has integrated test programs for CSR's BlueCore4 silicon into its new LitePoint Bluetooth software package, which offers full v2.0+EDR Rx and Tx test capability.

LitePoint Corp has integrated test programs for CSR's BlueCore4 silicon into its new LitePoint Bluetooth software package, which offers full v2.0+EDR (enhanced datarate) Rx and Tx test capability.

The software package is available now worldwide using the LitePoint IQview and IQflex test platforms and will significantly accelerate the test stages and ultimately further improve time to market, for products using BlueCore4 solutions.

LitePoint Corp claims this software package is the only product available to reliably test Bluetooth v2.0+EDR designs.

Following its launch in June 2004 and the ratification of the v2.0+EDR specification by the Bluetooth SIG in November 2004, BlueCore4 remains the only EDR silicon in production to be found in qualified consumer end products.

"CSR is by the far the leading supplier of Bluetooth technology worldwide", commented Dr Benny Madsen, CEO LitePoint.

"By including example test programs for BlueCore4 in our software package, we can ensure we reach a greater number of EDR Bluetooth device manufacturers with our test platforms optimising production test times while minimising cost of test".

Simon Finch, VP strategic marketing, CSR, added: "We were impressed with the speed and results that LitePoint demonstrated in a short period of time to deliver this industry-leading EDR test capability".

He continued: "By enabling EDR Bluetooth products to be tested quickly and at relatively low cost, our customers can minimise the time to market and enhance the profitability of their Bluetooth designs".

The LitePoint IQview and IQflex test platforms are able to test converged wireless devices integrating both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology in one pass, again reducing the time and cost implications involved in device testing.

"This test capability will be extremely useful for manufacturers wishing to test products such as converged mobile phones offering Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity", noted Finch.

"We look forward to working closely with LitePoint to provide example test programs for our UniFi Wi-Fi product family, allowing our customers to not only integrate the most advanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth solutions in their products but also to test them easily and cost-effectively".
