The new range of Sungjin Techwin Bluetooth hands-free car kits contain CSR's BlueCore3-Multimedia (BC3-MM) technology The kits connect with Bluetooth-enabled phones within a 10m range and are controlled by an innovative digital rear view mirror

Sungjin Techwin's choice to use BC3-MM to provide Bluetooth hands-free telephony in the car will ensure it connects to any Bluetooth enabled mobile phone thanks to CSR's extensive interoperability pretesting.

Both kits (MHF-R220BT and MHF-R330BT) are available now - with the MHF-R330BT also incorporating parking sensors.

The rear view mirror control unit, which is powered from the cigarette lighter socket, features a 12-digit caller ID display with single pushbutton control of all call features and loudspeaker settings.

The incoming phone number is announced through the unit's inbuilt speaker and amplifier, which achieves superior sound quality with little or no distortion.

CSR's Kalimba DSP suppresses cabin noise and echo using CSR's Clear Voice Capture (CVC) technology.

Sungjin Techwin's decision to use CSR's BC3-MM with on-chip software is recognition of the cost saving and quality advantages CSR brings to its partners.

BC3-MM's in-built Kalimba DSP requires no further external processor for audio processing saving money on the overall bill of materials.

In addition, incorporated CVC technology enhances voice quality during calls.

The DSP is also more efficient in audio processing achieving power consumption levels similar to that of Bluetooth headsets without integrated echo and noise suppression.

The acquisition of Clarity Technologies in March 2005 brought CVC technology to CSR's Bluetooth portfolio.

CVC's noise suppression algorithm separates the user's voice from the unwanted noise in the environment.

The echo suppression system similarly removes all unwanted echoes allowing designers to position microphones and speakers closely together.

CVC is widely used in mono and stereo headsets allowing for close coexistence of both microphone and speaker with no feedback.
