Bluetooth dominance continues

John Scarisbrick, CEO of CSR commented on the results: "We have delivered record results in the third quarter of 2006, with revenues increasing 32% and operating profits increasing 14% compared with the same quarter last year".

Development kit gains more Bluetooth software
The CompactSira development kit from Cambridge Silicon Radio now comes with a sample CD of Rappore's Bluetooth host protocol stack, profiles and My Wirefree Network user interface.
"CSR has maintained its leadership in Bluetooth with approximately 60% of the total available design wins so far this year and the Board is confident that further significant growth will be achieved in 2007".

The consumer market has proved to be a growing segment for CSR in Q3 2006.
Bluetooth stereo headsets for use with mobile phones, MP3 players and PCs have gained traction with consumers and CSR has won 94% of all stereo headset design wins during the results period.
Bluetooth-enabled MP3 players are also starting to appear in the market with CSR at the heart of Samsung's first Bluetooth MP3 player, the T9.
In the automotive market, CSR won significant design-ins with GPS systems from TomTom and Garmin and handsfree kits for customers like Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Continental.
In the PC market, CSR secured the only laptop design win of the 3rd quarter, with Fujitsu Siemens and a number of peripherals.
In the mobile phone market, CSR was awarded 20 of the 43 GSM handset qualifications of the third quarter 2006, bringing the company's total share for the year to 46% of all 157 GSM handsets qualified during the first three quarters of 2006.
CSR's investment in its market leadership is also reflected in a further rise in headcount from 810 at the end of Q2 2006, to 904 at the end of Q3 2006.
