CSR is already certified to quality system standard ISO9001 with TickIT and Occupational Health and Safety Specification (OHSAS) 18001.
In order to fulfil its environmental policy in the UK, CSR employs an EMS (environmental management system); the EMS governs the company's objective of reducing its impact on the environment.
Fully compliant within British environmental legislation, the EMS provides a formal framework to enable delivery of measures to minimise its effect on the environment.
The ISO14001 certification reinforces CSR's commitment to improve its business management skills in accordance with environmental needs.
CSR recognises the importance of social, environmental and ethical (SEE) matters across all of its offices worldwide; the impact on the environment through its operations; the safety and well-being of its employees; the safety and well-being of the consumer, as well as those who contribute to the development and manufacture of its products.
On a regular basis CSR reviews key risks and takes account of the potential SEE impact on the business and its stakeholders.
The company also ensures that all its suppliers have appropriate policies and practices on SEE matters, and that its products can be used in a safe manner.
Chris Ladas, Vice President of Manufacturing at CSR said: "We have worked very hard to achieve ISO 14001 certification and have ensured that we have all of the systems and processes in place to make the delivery of our EMS as effective as possible".
"CSR will continue to review its manufacturing processes and materials in our goal to help preserve the environment".
CSR has aimed continually to reduce its impact on the environment, which is clearly reflected in the company's previous environmental achievements including a move to make all new BlueCore products RoHS compliant since 2004.
CSR is also a Sony Green Partner and holds Samsung Eco Partner status, both achieved in 2006.
