WiFi and Bluetooth chosen for phone

CSR's UniFi-1 Portable for WiFi and BlueCore4-ROM for Bluetooth technologies have been selected for the Mio DigiWalker A702 quad-band GPS PDA Phone CSR's intelligent RF design ensures trouble-free WiFi, Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS co-existence, and has also enabled Mio's GPS PDA Phone to offer a standby time of over 200 hours

CSR's UniFi1-Portable supports IEEE802.11b/g and, with a standby current of less than 10 mW, is designed specifically for embedding in power conscious applications such as mobile handsets.
UniFi's co-existence is a result of a combination of time division multiplexing and other measures that ensure that synchronous Bluetooth packets do not cause interference with the WiFi transmission.
Mio Technology chose to incorporate CSR's BlueCore4-ROM hardware plus BlueCore Host Software, which presents a complete and fully-integrated Bluetooth hardware and software solution for the fast time to market and low cost.
For Mio's Windows Mobile PDA phone, CSR incorporated Microsoft-OPP (Object Push Profile) for document or file transfer; plus CSR's Windows Profile Pack for Windows CE.
The Mio's A702 incorporates a 3.2Megapixel autofocus camera with flash, and Windows Mobile 6 functionality.
CSR's UniFi for WiFi provides a wireless link to internet access points whilst CSR's BlueCore for Bluetooth provides connectivity to transfer image files or documents to a PC, or to connect Bluetooth headsets or handsfree kits.
CSR's Senior Vice President of Mobile Handset Connectivity Business Unit, Matthew Philips said "Mio DigiWalker A702 is the perfect environment for combining CSR's UniFi and BlueCore technologies".
"Users of the handset will be able to simultaneously speak on a Bluetooth headset whilst accessing the internet on a WiFi connection to make full use of the Mio's Windows Mobile 6 software".
