Novel interface is perfect for convertor mounting
Position Perfect is a novel surface mount interface technology claimed to provide enhanced mechanical integrity and improved mounting accuracy for DC/DC convertors.
Surface mount inductors have inbuilt shielding
Offering a wide range of inductance values and featuring integral EMI shielding, the latest inductors from C and D Technologies (NCL) will suit power designs that have limited PCB space.
The new surface mount DC/DC convertors are available with input voltages of either 5 or 12V and dual isolated output options of 5, 9, 12V or 15V.
In all cases isolation between input and output is rated at 1kV DC.
A wide operating temperature range allows the devices to deliver their full 2W performance between -40 and +85C without a heatsink.
By employing leadframe technology and transfer moulding techniques, the new NTH DC/DC convertors bring the benefits of IC style packaging to hybrid circuitry.
All devices are lead-free compatible and offer a guaranteed pin coplanarity of 0.1mm in accordance with IEC191-6:1990.
Full compliance with the CECC00802 standard for reflow soldering at to 280C allows the convertors to be placed and soldered alongside conventional ICs.
The NTH convertors operate with efficiencies up to 84% and have a total power density of 1.54W/cm3.
Maximum internal power dissipation is specified as 550mW.
Typical line regulation is 1%, while load regulation is 5% for the 5V output convertors and 3% for all other devices.
Supplied in fully encapsulated, UL94V0-compliant packaging, NTH DC/DC convertors use an internal SMD construction and multi layer ceramic capacitors, which contribute to an MTTF rating of 2.1Mh.
Unit pricing for the NTH convertors is under $7.00 in OEM quantities. Request a free brochure from Murata Power Solutions ...
