Convertors satisfy current-hungry applications
Isolated wide-input-range DC/DC convertors deliver 50-60W of power from a standard 40.6 x 50.8 x 10.16mm PCB-mounting open-frame package.
Eighth-brick convertors power up to 100W
Murata Power Solutions has a new series of cost-effective eighth-brick DC/DC convertors.
Target applications include high-density distributed power architectures (DPAs) in telecommunications, industrial and data communication systems.
In addition to its small size, the 1.2V output WPA50 DC/DC convertor helps designers to make additional space savings by providing high levels of integrated control and protection functionality.
This functionality includes output trim and remote output sense as well as a remote on/off capability that allows the device to be turned on and off using either negative or positive logic signals.
Thermal shutdown and protection against output overvoltage and overcurrent conditions are supplied as standard.
The new convertor can accommodate a wide input voltage range of between 36 and 75V DC and is capable of operating at temperatures up to 100degC without a heatsink.
No minimum load is required and the device features an isolation voltage rating of 1500V DC.
Offering high levels of onboard functionality, WPA50 DC/DC convertors operate with a fixed switching frequency of 400kHz and meet CISPR22/EN55022/FCC15J Class B specifications for EMI levels with external filtering.
Efficiency levels are as high as 91%, while typical ripple and noise on the output is specified as 75mV (peak-peak).
Operating temperatures for the new convertors range from -40 to +100C and MTTF for all of the devices in the range is 1Mh.
Pricing for the 1.2V output WPA50 DC/DC convertors is less than US $50 each in OEM quantities. Request a free brochure from Murata Power Solutions ...
