Position Perfect interconnects use C and D precision designed cylindrical copper devices attached to the convertor through a high speed automatic swaging process for enhanced mechanical integrity These devices have an extremely flat surface for easy mounting to the host board.
In many applications it is very difficult to take advantage of today's surface mount devices including high current DC/DC convertors.
Position Perfect makes this transition trivial.
The annular ring on the host board used to accommodate a through hole DC/DC convertor is all that is needed to affix DC/DC convertors built with Position Perfect interfaces.
The Position Perfect design is made to sit flat on top of the existing annular rings when using a double screen print solder paste application.
Existing annular rings must be at least 0.25mm larger than the designated Position Perfect interface on a given DC/DC convertor.
The Position Perfect design is plated with a matte tin over nickel making for lead free compliance, and allows for full rated current to be delivered to the host PCB in most DC/DC convertor models.
Convertors with Position Perfect interconnects are designed for use with high-volume automated manufacturing processes.
Automated handling of SMT convertors allows for increased throughput, reduced lead times and cost savings.
Products are shipped in anti-static, vacuum-formed trays for ease of use with pick and place automated manufacturing equipment.
