C and D Technologies has completed the acquisition of Datel, the privately held manufacturer of DC/DC convertors, digital panel meters and hybrid data acquisition components.

Included in the acquisition is Datel's 17,000m2 headquarters in Mansfield, Massachusetts, along with sales offices in Europe and Asia and a research and development facility in Shanghai, China.

Datel will be integrated into C and D's Power Electronics Division, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona.

The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings and aligns with C and D's plans of growing both by acquisition and organically.

"We are enthused about this acquisition, as it provides C and D with additional products, engineering resource and market opportunities", said Wade H Roberts Jr, C and D's President and Chief Executive Officer.

"The Datel acquisition expands our customer base, product portfolio and international presence".

"In this latter regard, Datel's historic strength in Asia and Europe (specifically with sales offices in the UK, France, Germany and Japan) considerably enhances our international position".

"We look forward to Datel joining C and D while recognising that this fine company has been extremely successful on its own".
