Convertors satisfy current-hungry applications
Isolated wide-input-range DC/DC convertors deliver 50-60W of power from a standard 40.6 x 50.8 x 10.16mm PCB-mounting open-frame package.
Eighth-brick convertors power up to 100W
Murata Power Solutions has a new series of cost-effective eighth-brick DC/DC convertors.
The new unit features 2250V isolation and is able to deliver up to 21A at temperatures up to 110C alleviating the need for forced air cooling in all except the most severe applications.
Optimised for ease of use, the UHP-12/21-D48 has a wide 36 to 75V input range and is supplied on a 58 x 61mm open-frame package with industry standard half-brick pinouts and mounting.
Effective thermal management can be achieved through conduction cooling by attaching the UHP-12/21-D48 to a housing wall or via an optional baseplate.
Important elements of the UHP-12/21-D48's design are its multiple I/O protection features that help to avoid damage to outside equipment as well to the convertor itself.
These include convertor shutdown on sustained input undervoltage, output overcurrent, output short circuit and overvoltage and thermal shutdown.
Overload currents that are less than a short circuit limit the output current so that operation is not interrupted.
on short circuit shutdown "hiccup mode" will automatically attempt to restart the UHP-12/21-D48 once the overload is removed.
Further standard features included in the specification of the new unit include remote sense, trim, on/off control and startup into prebiased load.
The UHP-12/21-D48 carries the CE mark and has UL/EN60950 safety approvals, it has also been designed for RoHS compliance.
Unit pricing for the C and D Technologies UHP-12/21-D48 is $67.35 in OEM quantities (USA 100-piece pricing), and delivery is from stock to 6 weeks. Request a free brochure from Murata Power Solutions ...
