DIP gets DC/DC convertor into tight
spaces

C and D Technologies is now able to offer its NGA series of non-isolated DC/DC convertors in dual-in-line packages (DIP).

C and D Technologies is now able to offer its NGA series of non-isolated DC/DC convertors in dual-in-line packages (DIP) The new low profile devices are ideal for use in embedded computing applications where space is restricted such as rack systems where cards may be mounted in close proximity to one another

The synchronous rectification design of NGA DC/DC convertors yields efficiencies of up to 95%.

A further key feature of the range is its ability to deliver full output power at temperatures up to 85C.

An industry standard footprint makes the NGA series ideal for use as a 'drop-in' replacement for existing designs.

Devices from the range are able to accept a wide voltage input range of between 4.75 and 28V and can be supplied with single regulated outputs of either 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V or 5V.

Nominal output ripple for all devices is 40mVp-p, while line and load regulation are 0.2% and 1.5% respectively.

In addition to high efficiency conversion, the NGA series features continuous built-in short circuit protection.

The SMD constructed devices also provide an integrated shutdown facility and voltage trim capability.

Shutdown disables the convertor's output when the shutdown pin is shorted to 0V.

Voltage trim requires a single external resistor to provide output adjustment to within +/-5% of the required output voltage.

The NGA DIP package measures 21.49 x 20.96mm and has an overall height of just 6.77mm.

Also available in a SIP package, the operating temperature range for all NGA devices is -40 to +85C.

Pricing for the NGA series is under GBP10. Request a free brochure from Murata Power Solutions ...
