An innovative fusion of ingenious mechanical engineering and sophisticated optical engineering results in the Dynasty series of integrated power LEDs.

An innovative fusion of ingenious mechanical engineering and sophisticated optical engineering results in the Dynasty series of integrated power LEDs, new from the Cao Group These are the only high power LEDs (1W) on the market which are readily replaceable, 100% waterproof and which require no secondary heatsink

The Dynasty LED series is based on a patented three-dimensional lead frame design (US Patents 6,465,961, 6,746,885 and others pending), that enables its screw-in construction to facilitate exchange or replacement, exceptional heat management, and which produces its butterfly-beam pattern with a 360-degree horizontal and 275-degree vertical viewing angle.

Footprint diameter is only 9mm, and surface mount types are also available.

The packaging is environmentally sealed and fully RoHS compliant.

The patented technology integrates multiple standard LED chips to create a high flux LED at a lower-than-expected cost per lumen in solid state lighting applications, over a long operating lifetime.

Dynasty's efficient electrical and optical designs, using proprietary phosphors, result in a performance range from 50-70 lumen/W in a typical white unit.

Blue, cyan, green, yellow and red are also available.

Colour temperatures for white range from 5000 to 7000K.

The lights are cool to the touch, and, at standard 320mA/3.5V operation, no secondary heatsink is necessary.

Ron Randall, Director of the Optoelectronics and Lighting Division of Cao Group, reports that the ease of replacement of the Dynasty series attracted particular attention when Cao Group previewed them at the recent Light Fair International Trade Show, which is ironic because the expected long lifetime suggests that replacement will most likely not be necessary.

Randall says the units are ideal for task and ambient lighting applications, and are attracting special attention in the transportation industries - automotive, marine and aviation.

Samples of the Dynasty 640 Series are now available and production orders are being accepted for Q3 delivery.
