Carlo Gavazzi has extended its ESA family of multifunction instruments for testing the electrical safety of products which require a CE mark The latest in the range, the ESA-250, is aimed at technicians who need a simple, all-purpose piece of testing equipment

CE marking is compulsory with reference to the MD (Machinery Directive) and LVD (Low Voltage Directive).

LVD is important in verifying the conformity of electrical assemblies to the standards relating to safety.

Another two, relatively new standards are based on the same logic: EN60439-1/VDE0113/IEC204-1 on low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies and EN60204-1/VDE0660/IEC439-1 on electrical equipment of machines and safety of machinery.

ESA-250 can fulfill the requirements of the EN60204-1 standard and partially those of EN60439-1.

It offers the advantage of using a single instrument to carry out all the tests in a methodical way.

The instrument is completely configurable and provides the limits of acceptance required by the individual standards for each measurement or test carried out.

These limits can be modified using the standard built-in keyboard.

ESA-250 is designed to offer complete test functions with simple and versatile use.

The instrument is portable and can therefore be used equally effectively in-the-field or the laboratory.
