Catalyst Semiconductor has added shunt voltage regulators to its mixed signal product line.

Catalyst Semiconductor has added shunt voltage regulators to its mixed signal product line The CAT431L is a precision 1.24V shunt regulator featuring 0.5% accuracy

The CAT102 is a precision 0.6V shunt regulator.

Output voltage for both regulators can be set with external resistors.

"Shunt voltage regulators will sell along side our digital potentiometers in high end power supplies that target non-consumer computer and telecommunication systems.

Additional products scheduled for later this year will integrate regulators with microcontroller supervisory functions", said Catalyst Semiconductor Director of Marketing David Gillooly.

The CAT431L offers twice the accuracy of the pin compatible TLV431A device.

Initial output voltage reference accuracy is +/-0.5% or +/-6mV.

Surface mount and through-hole PCBs are supported with SOT23 packages and the three-lead, TO-92 package.

The 0.6V output voltage of the CAT102 makes it ideal for low voltage power supplies.

Initial output accuracy is +/-1% or 6mV.

Power supply rejection is 45dB at 300kHz.

The error amplifier power supply connection and the output are available on separate pins.

The CAT431L is offered in SOT-23 and TO-92 packages.

It is a higher precision, drop-in replacement for the Texas Instruments TLV431A.

The CAT102 is available in a SOT23 package.

Prices start at $0.14 in 10,000 piece quantities.

Devices are currently available for sampling and production orders.
