The Samsung eco-partner certification programme expects active participation from suppliers to achieve the goal of satisfying RoHS regulations, restricting the use of harmful substances to reduce potential impacts on the environment and human body, which will become effective in July 2006.
Samsung eco-partners are required to: identify the substances regulated by Samsung Electronics and take corrective action if the regulated substances are contained in parts and components supplied to Samsung Electronics; guarantee their compliance with the SEC Environmental Standard (0QA-2049) and submit the required documents; and be responsible for all problems that may result from supplying parts that do not comply with the SEC Environmental Standard (0QA-2049) or from submitting forged or inaccurate documents and data.
Issued by the Samsung Electronics CS Management Centre, the certification covers the two year period from 1st October 2004 to 30th September 2006.
