A new range of reverse polarity (RP) connectors is ideal for antenna, wireless network and basestation applications.

A new range of reverse polarity (RP) connectors is ideal for antenna, wireless network and basestation applications The new products are: the 505-303-C reverse polarity TNC crimp plug for cable type RG58; the 503-608-C-AU reverse polarity gold plated SMA crimp jack for cable type RG58; the 503-628-C-AU reverse polarity gold plated SMA bulkhead crimp jack for cable type RG58; and the 503-600-R-AU reverse polarity gold plated SMA crimp plug for cable type RG174

Coax Connectors' Managing Director James Robinson said: "Demand has been increasing steadily for the reverse polarity connectors that we first introduced to the market in the autumn of last year.

Now, to meet the needs of more applications in the wireless industry where they are primarily used, we offer a much improved selection of high quality RP connectors at our usual realistic prices".

Reverse polarity connectors have the normal "male" and "female" inner connector parts swapped over so that female contacts are used in the plug connector and male contacts in the jack.

Their purpose is to prevent the user from inadvertently plugging in equipment (such as a radio antenna) that differs from the type specified by the manufacturer.

RP connectors will not mate with standard coaxial connectors, making it less likely for an incorrect antenna to be used.

Other applications include differentiating between two RF connector ports by using a reverse polarity connector on one of them, thereby avoiding any possibility of misconnection.

Reverse polarity connectors are available in the following ranges: SMA (plugs, jacks and bulkheads); TNC (plugs and jacks); and BNC (plugs, jacks and bulkheads).

Coax Connectors offers a comprehensive range of high quality coaxial connectors, sold at competitive prices for applications throughout the electronics industry.

The company has ISO9002 quality assurance together with the approval of Jaguar and other top customers.

Coax can supply off-the-shelf connectors - including RP connectors - from stock for next-day delivery.

Its technical department can also assist in the design and development of connectors to meet individual requirements.
