Coax Connectors' Managing Director James Robinson said: "Demand has been increasing steadily for the reverse polarity connectors that we first introduced to the market in the autumn of last year.
Now, to meet the needs of more applications in the wireless industry where they are primarily used, we offer a much improved selection of high quality RP connectors at our usual realistic prices".
Reverse polarity connectors have the normal "male" and "female" inner connector parts swapped over so that female contacts are used in the plug connector and male contacts in the jack.
Their purpose is to prevent the user from inadvertently plugging in equipment (such as a radio antenna) that differs from the type specified by the manufacturer.
RP connectors will not mate with standard coaxial connectors, making it less likely for an incorrect antenna to be used.
Other applications include differentiating between two RF connector ports by using a reverse polarity connector on one of them, thereby avoiding any possibility of misconnection.
Reverse polarity connectors are available in the following ranges: SMA (plugs, jacks and bulkheads); TNC (plugs and jacks); and BNC (plugs, jacks and bulkheads).
