Syfer Technology is to withdraw its 8123Z and 8133Z ranges of moulded radial multilayer ceramic capacitors.

Syfer Technology is to withdraw its 8123Z and 8133Z ranges of moulded radial multilayer ceramic capacitors This follows the withdrawal of the company's "A" case 8113Z series in April 2000 and includes products released to CECC specifications 30601 009 and 30701 007

Syfer will however, continue to manufacture dipped versions of these products as commercial and CECC-released parts.

A last time buy for the moulded 8123Z and 8133Z series has been scheduled for 31st December 2004.

Direct equivalents will continue to be manufactured as commercial and to CECC-release, in identical case sizes, by Charcroft as its VK20 and VK30 series.

Charcroft will also supply alternatives to the obsolete "A" case and to BS9075 N0023, N0024 and F0002.

Edmund Coady, Sales Director of Charcroft Electronics, commented: "It has always been Charcroft's policy to provide long-term support and continuity of supply to customers".

"So whilst demand for these has been diminishing there are still customers who will continue to need equivalent parts for retro-fit programmes, particularly in defence, aerospace and other life-critical products with extended life-cycles".

"By offering direct alternatives in identical case sizes, Charcroft enables customers to make an easy transition to a replacement part without significant redesign of their boards".
