CCS expands manufacturing capabilities

CCS has also recruited sales engineers, as part of its programme to grow its business.

Commenting on the development, Stuart Fox, Managing Director of CCS Electronics, said: "Abacus Group has invested in CCS as part of its strategy of expanding its business in value added services.

As part of Abacus MFG, CCS has benefited from access to a large group-wide component stock, the financial resources of a large quoted company and national sales support from the Abacus sales force.

Synergy with CTL Manufacturing, Abacus' manufacturing facility in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, has given CCS additional engineering and manufacturing resource together with even more available production space, to allow us to take on larger and more complex projects.

This has led to a healthy pattern of growth at CCS' manufacturing business here in Runcorn".

The investment by Abacus Group has allowed CCS to move its own stock of components to the central Abacus Distribution Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and use the space created to expand the manufacturing area.

As part of the expansion programme, CCS has also taken the opportunity to restructure its facility, to make better use of the space it already had.

CCS now has an 800m2 manufacturing area, and the capacity to substantially increase its manufacturing staff of 60.
