Concurrent Technologies is extending its Intel-based VME processor family with the VP 100/01x, a high-performance low-power VME single-board computer The board supports the 1.2GHz Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor-M or alternatively the 800MHz low voltage Intel Pentium III Processor 512K

Vertical markets for this product include military, aerospace, scientific and telecommunications industries - all encompass rapidly changing projects that require a product family with scaled performance, long life, ease of integration and protection of software investment.

At the core of the design is the low power Intel Pentium III "Tualatin" (0.13 micron) mobile processor in a "flip chip" package.

The processor, with options of 1.2GHz or 800MHz, supports 133MHz front side bus and 512Kbyte of high-speed secondary cache.

For increased reliability, as with all Concurrent Technologies' designs, heatsinks are used in preference to fans for cooling the CPU.

The VP 100/01x provides, soldered on board, 512Mbyte or 1Gbyte of 133MHz ECC SDRAM that can easily be upgraded to 1.5Gbyte via the onboard memory socket.

This single-slot board supports a single PMC site (32/64bit up to 66MHz) with an expansion connector providing two further PMC sites on an optional carrier.

EIDE and Ultra Wide SCSI interfaces are provided.

Installed EIDE options are, an onboard EIDE 1.8in disk drive (up to UDMA100), or a CompactFlash/IBM Micodrive carrier, both within a single slot whilst keeping the PMC site free.

Other features available are a dual 10baseT/100baseTX Ethernet interface, keyboard/mouse interface, PC real-time clock, two RS232 channels, four USB ports, parallel printer port, watchdog timer, long duration timer and an Asiliant Technologies 69030 graphics interface including digital flat panel support.

A P2 breakout module is provided to facilitate integration in specific applications requiring rear I/O connection.

For ease of integration, the VP 100/01x supports many of today's leading operating systems, including VxWorks, Linux, LynxOS, Windows 2000, Windows NT and Solaris.
