Concurrent Technologies is continuing its commitment to Multibus II users with the introduction of the CP PSE/30x, a low-power high-performance 800MHz Intel low voltage Pentium III CPU board.

The CP PSE/30x is designed to be a form, fit and functional replacement for the CP PSE/P2x and CP PSE/P3x boards.

It provides system engineers with a smooth, low risk, migration to meet higher performance computing requirements as well as providing systems applications with an extended life.

The core of the CP PSE/30x is the low voltage 800MHz Intel Pentium III Tualatin (0.13 micron) processor in a flip-chip package.

The processor supports 512Kbyte of high-speed secondary cache and, in conjunction with the ServerWorks ServerSet III LE chipset, operates a 133MHz front side bus with up to 512Mbyte of SDRAM.

As with all Concurrent Technologies' designs, heatsinks are used in preference to fans for cooling the CPU, and a selection of extended life cycle components together with high MTBF components ensures a robust design with high reliability and continuity of supply.

The board shares the same feature set as its predecessors which includes a high speed Wide Ultra-2 SCSI interface using the LSI Logic 53C895 device, a single PMC host expansion slot, 8Mbyte of application Flash EPROM, 512Kbyte of BIOS Flash, two RS232 serial channels and PS/2 keyboard.

For compatibility, including legacy software, the board can be populated with one of three different Ethernet controllers; these are the Intel 21143, 82596 or 82551.

Further I/O expansion capability is provided via the use of the existing optional PMC carrier, which can be fitted to the board.

The CP PSE/30x supports iRMX, UnixWare, VxWorks, Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems and is designed to run existing Multibus II software applications without modification.
