6U CompactPCI Board features Flip-Chip Pentium III
Concurrent Technologies has announced the release of the PP EMB/P34 Peripheral Slot Controller CPU board, a single slot 6U CompactPCI Board featuring the Flip-Chip Pentium III processor.
Hot-Swap PMC Carrier allows continuous operation
The PP PMC/002 is designed to provide a cost effective and flexible approach to implementing standard and custom I/O requirements using industry standard PMC modules in CompactPCI systems.
Plus, both CRT and DFP outputs can be driven simultaneously with either different images or resolutions.
Each output is available via a front panel DVI-I connector and the DFP PanelLink output is also accessible via the P4 rear panel.
The DFP interface cable can be up to 5m in length.
The IO PMC/731 can be used with Concurrent Technologies' CompactPCI and VME or any other PMC compliant host board.
The adapter uses Silicon Motion's SM731, an embedded 3D/2D dual display controller, supporting resolutions up to 1600 x 1200.
The CRT refresh vertical scan rate is up to 85Hz and the DFP data refresh rate is 60Hz.
The SM731, a 128bit graphics engine, also provides an integrated 24bit RAMDAC which supports output pixel rates of up to 235MHz.
High resolution and high performance users will benefit from the 16Mbyte of on-chip 150MHz SGRAM to provide ample local storage for image and off-screen data such as texture maps, Z-buffer, and backing store.
Included is the capability to perform 90, 180 and 270 degree hardware rotation.
The graphics engine implements, in hardware, full acceleration of graphics functions and BitBLTs.
The IO PMC/731 is a single-size card and is compliant with the CMC (common mezzanine card) specification.
The board complies with the PCI specification and features a PCI 33MHz 32bit interface using 3.3V signalling.
A 64Kbyte onboard video BIOS EPROM is supplied.
A DVI-I to DVI-D/HD15 splitter connector cable is supplied as standard.
Operating systems supported include Windows 2000, Windows XP, VxWorks, Linux and QNX.
Volume IO PMC/731 prices start from approximately $446.
