A low-power 3U CompactPCI SBC supports the 1.4GHz Intel Pentium M processor LV 738 in harsh operating environments.

A low-power 3U CompactPCI SBC supports the 1.4GHz Intel Pentium M processor LV 738 in harsh operating environments The TP 302/320 range combines the performance of the Intel Pentium M processor with the Intel 855GME GMCH chipset and up to 1Gbyte of soldered 333MHz DDR SDRAM

The board operates as a system controller for up to seven peripheral boards including hot-swap control.

Two industrial grade options are available, the 1.4GHz TP 302/320-K (-40 to +85C) or the 1.4GHz TP 302/320-E (-25 to +70C).

Commercial grade options (0 to +55C) are also available, using either 1.4 or 1.8GHz Intel Pentium M processors.

These 3U CompactPCI boards are well suited to applications within the transportation, industrial-control, automation, scientific, telemetry, defence, security and aerospace markets.

Both the 1.4 and 1.8GHz Intel Pentium M processors support 2Mbyte L2 cache.

One core feature of the Intel Pentium M processor is that the user's software can control the speed of the processor with the benefit of tuning the power/performance ratio to suit the application requirements.

The Intel 855GME GMCH memory controller interfaces to 1Gbyte of soldered 333MHz DDR SDRAM, and the board's main I/O capability is provided by the Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub (ICH).

For fast external control and high-speed data paths, the TP 302/32x family supports up to four high-speed USB 2.0 ports and up to four RS232 (including one RS232/422) ports, plus the onboard Intel 82546GB Ethernet controller can sustain datarates up to 4Gbit/s via the two gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

The CompactPCI control/data plane throughput can operate at 33/66MHz backplane PCI signalling speeds.

Additional I/O features include dual EIDE, dual Serial ATA150 and stereo audio interfaces.

For embedded applications the boards support, as standard, an onboard CompactFlash socket via the EIDE interface.

There is an option to install an onboard 2.5in EIDE ATA100 hard disk drive or for harsher environments a 2.5in solid state EIDE Flash drive.

A 2048 x 1536 front panel graphics interface is implemented using the Intel 855GME GMCH and includes a 1400 x 1050 rear panel DVI-D interface.

Other features provided are keyboard and mouse interface, PC real-time clock, watchdog timer, long duration timer, and legacy speaker interface.

For applications requiring rear I/O connections, a transition module is available - a stereo audio codec and line level stereo audio I/O pairs and mic input are also supported on the transition module.

The boards support many of today's leading operating systems, including Linux, VxWorks, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and QNX.
