The flagship product of Coding Technologies, the highly efficient aacPlus audio codec, is the combination of MPEG-4 AAC coupled with Coding Technologies' spectral band replication (SBR) and parametric stereo (PS).
aacPlus is an integral part of the open MPEG standard and widely deployed in digital broadcasting, mobile music services, and Internet streaming to deliver the same audio quality at only one quarter of the bit rate used by today's benchmark codec MP3.
"We consider the Chinese audio and new media market as one of the most important growth drivers for our future business", said Martin Dietz, Chief Executive Officer and President of Coding Technologies.
"Our goal is to make our technologies more readily available on a local level to Chinese manufacturers, content providers and consumers".
Commenting on the opening of the China office, Chief Representative Toni Fiedler added: "Coding Technologies is committed to providing high fidelity sound on any digital device, using less space to store more content".

In China, leading music service platform A8 recently agreed to use aacPlus as the default encoding format for downloads to audiophiles.
All major handset manufacturers worldwide, including Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, and SonyEriccson, are shipping units with aacPlus capability, enabling mobile device users to enjoy aacPlus content provided by many mobile operators such as KDDI, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
The representative office is registered in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, with the offices in the Full Tower building on Dongsanhuan directly opposite the new CCTV building.
