Displays company gets seasoned financial executive

Cambridge Display Technology has appointed Nigel Berry as Chief Financial Officer.

Cambridge Display Technology has appointed Nigel Berry as Chief Financial Officer.

A seasoned financial executive with operating experience in Asia and North America, Berry will be responsible for the management and strategic planning of all corporate financial, investor relations and management information system (MIS) functions for CDT.

Joining CDT's management board he will report to David Fyfe, CEO of CDT and will play a key role in driving the implementation of CDT's financial and business strategy.

We have established a solid intellectual property and technology base, have recruited a top-flight management team and have the endorsement of a critical mass of partners in the display world who will launch commercial products containing the CDT technology in the next 12 months.

Next year we will also have a $25 million state-of-the-art technology development centre in operation in Godmanchester, UK to drive forward our global commercialisation strategy for LEPs", said David Fyfe, CEO, CDT.

"Nigel's proven success in managing the finances of growing businesses will be invaluable to driving forward CDT's global plan and continued success in securing strategic investment", added Fyfe.

Berry brings over 20 years financial management experience to CDT.

Most recently Berry served as Chief Financial Officer at Rexam Printing where he successfully prepared the company for disposal, whilst also submitting a management buy out offer.

Previously, Berry spent a lengthy career with Wassall in the UK and US before taking the position of Chief Operating Officer for Wassall Asia-Pacific based in Singapore.

Berry spent his early career with Unipart Plc as Senior Financial Planner and Watson Hawksley Ltd as Finance Director.

Educated at Sheffield University, Berry holds a BA in Accounting and Economics and gained his ACA professional accountancy qualification with Coopers and Lybrand in London.
