Tower Semiconductor has selected Celestry's device-model parameter extraction products and characterisation services for its 0.18-micron process and new Fab-2 technologies.

In addition, Celestry is providing Tower with a variety of analogue device models for its submicron designs.

Tower chose Celestry's device-model development product BSIMPro+ for device-model extraction and selected the company's Celestry Labs services for process characterisation.

Tower decided to work with Celestry because Celestry is recognised as the leading provider of the most precise and complete DC-to-RF modelling software and services for physical design.

"Our engineers believe that the accuracy and precision of the Celestry products are best-in-class", noted Dr Itzhak Edrei, vice president of research and development for Tower.

"The Celestry team's knowledge and assistance have been key assets in quickly establishing our modelling projects".

"Tower is well known for providing excellent service and solutions to its customers, and we are pleased to support Tower's Fab-2 offerings", said Dr Zhihong Liu, president and CEO of Celestry.

"Celestry's modelling solutions have been chosen by almost all of the world's leading silicon manufacturers and the agreement with Tower further confirms our leadership in device modelling for traditional CMOS technology".

Tower will use Celestry Labs' modelling and characterisation services for device development and fast prototyping, and Celestry's BSIMPro+ to enhance Tower's model self-extraction capabilities.
