"He will add his considerable marketing and electronic business expertise to our executive team".
Liu added, "We continue to grow, due to the strong demand for our physical analysis products for nanometer designs, and as a result have moved our headquarters to a larger facility in San Jose".
"Celestry is well positioned to take the lead in providing the best physical analysis flow for semiconductor designs at 0.13 micron and below", said Randy Smith.
"I chose Celestry specifically because of its strenghts and the opportunity to work with a dynamic, growing, and successful EDA company".
Prior to Celestry and TriMedia, Smith was Vice President at Artisan Components.
He has also held various executive and senior management sales and marketing positions with Cadence Design Systems, Silicon Architects, Silicon Valley Research and Gambit Automated Design (later acquired by Synopsys).
He was a cofounder of Tangent Systems (later acquired by Cadence).
He has a BS electrical engineering degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Dale Pollek, previously Vice President, Sales and Marketing for North America and Europe, remains with the company as Vice President of Sales for North America and Europe.
Both Smith and Pollek report to Zhihong Liu.
