Multifunction acquisition runs via PCI or Cardbus

A Contec Microelectronics product story

The ADA16-32-2 series features two multifunction 16bit/500kHz data acquisition devices: the ADA16-32-2(PCI)F for a PCIbus and the ADA16-32-2(CB)F for a Cardbus interface.

The ADA16-32-2 series features two multifunction 16bit/500kHz data acquisition devices: the ADA16-32-2(PCI)F for a PCIbus and the ADA16-32-2(CB)F for a Cardbus interface.

The devices feature DMA bus mastering for continuous, high-speed data streaming without CPU intervention.

Bus master data transfer can be used for the analogue inputs and outputs either separately or at the same time.

This can be used to transfer large volumes of data between the PC card and PC without placing a load on the CPU.

When using bus master data transfer for analogue input data, users can also transfer the analogue output, digital input, digital output and counter data at the same time synchronised with the analogue input clock signal.

This function ensures reliable system-wide data synchronisation.

Buffer memory is available for background processing independent of software.

The analogue inputs and outputs each have their own buffer memory which can be used when not using bus master transfer.

Users can also perform analogue input and output in the background, independent of software and the current status of the PC.

The ADA16-32-2 contains 32 x 16bit analogue inputs, two 16bit analogue outputs, four digital inputs, four digital outputs and a 32bit binary counter.

Combining all these features on one DAQ device allows complex systems to be implemented on portable systems with only one PCI slot or on a laptop with Cardbus interface.

These high-speed devices can be combined with Contec's free measurement software, which includes: FFT analyser frequency analysis software; Hyper-Logger data acquisition software; Data Scope high-speed measurement software; Excel Scope MS Excel-based measurement software; Pen Recorder extended data recording software; and function generator waveform generating software.

Drivers for many Windows-based environments, including Visual Basic, C/C++, Borland, Delphi, Matlab and LabView are free of charge and included with each device.
