Omron's Information Technology Research Centre in Kyoto, Japan, has signed contract with Celoxica for multiple seats of its DK1 design suite "We are planning to use Celoxica's DK1 to implement signal processing designs

Using this tool you can take a top down approach for both software and hardware elements.

I expect this will improve our design team productivity and overall design efficiency", said Fumikazu Imae, project leader for Omron's Embedded Platform Promotion Group at its Information Technology Research Centre.

Dennis Nye, senior vice president, worldwide sales and marketing, Celoxica Said: "Omron's team are working on a range of exciting projects for consumer markets which typically have tight time scales and demanding technical and budgetary requirements.

Because Handel-C is very close to C in its syntax it provides a methodology more suited to the creative expression of complex algorithmic designs in hardware than HDL.

The DK1 design suite will enable Omron to turn around better designs faster by simplifying the development process and freeing up more time for iterative refinement".

Celoxica will be providing training and technical support for Omron's engineers through its regional office in Yokohama, Japan.
