FPGAs updated over the web
Celoxica has announced the DK1 design suite, software that enables a fundamentally new approach to the design of electronic hardware.
Celoxica offers a free go at FPGA design
Celoxica DK1 Eval is a free evaluation version of the Celoxica DK1 design suite that is restricted to compilations for simulation only, with no EDIF or VHDL output capability.
Using the Celoxica tools, designers can partition designs between hardware and software, seamlessly verify the system using higher-level languages, and directly synthesise from C-based models to FPGA hardware and RTL descriptions.
The Celoxica DK Design Suite and RC development platforms provide designers with the fastest path to FPSoC implementations including millions of gates, processor cores, memories and peripherals.
"The growth of the Taiwan market into higher level design methodologies represents a big opportunity for EDA companies who can support it", said Phil Bishop, Chief Executive of Celoxica.

Design suite extended to latest FPGAs
Celoxica has extended its DK1 design suite for the rapid design of reconfigurable hardware to support Xilinx Virtex II customers.
Board helps with small to medium FPGA prototyping
New from Celoxica, the RC100 stand-alone development board provides a rapid prototyping platform for small- to medium-sized FPGA designs.
PAL simplifies FPGA application interfacing
Celoxica has announced its platform abstraction layer (PAL) strategy for FPGA and system independent reconfigurable designs.
"The early success of our relationship with CHT validates our commitment to Taiwan and we look forward to the continued rapid adoption of our software-compiled system design methodology".
Celoxica has also officially unveiled Avant Technologies as its official sales representative in Taiwan.
Avant Technologies signed an agreement earlier this year to distribute Celoxica design software and development boards in Taiwan.
Celoxica and Avant sales and technical teams worked collaboratively to support the adoption of the DK Design Suite at Chunghwa Telecom.
"The Celoxica technology provides the most productive environment for system-level design", stated Dr Yao-Chang, Deputy General Manager at Avant Technology.
"For companies in Taiwan moving up the value chain to own more of the design process, the Celoxica tools provide the fastest path to adoption of SoC system-level design techniques.
We are very excited to be able to offer this technology to important customers such as CHT".
"We are pleased with the support from Avant and Celoxica.
The Celoxica technology will help us to speed the design and verification of complex SoC designs by quickly implementing working prototypes on the RC2000 development board", explained Lai Chang-Chi, Project Researcher, from CHT.
"By partitioning our designs early on in a higher-level language, we will be able to achieve the best Quality of Design in the fastest possible time".
The DK Design Suite provides the fastest route to design realisation from higher-level languages such as C, C++, System-C and Handel-C to FPSoC implementations.
The Celoxica environment directly targets FPGA logic from C-based code, and also generates human-readable RTL.
The Celoxica RC2000 development board provides a modular environment for the design of high-performance FPGA systems for software acceleration or SoC prototyping.
The RC2000 is composed if a large-scale FPGA environment that includes a PCI interface.
The development environment makes use of the Celoxica Data Streaming Manager (DSM) and Platform Application Layer (PAL) to rapidly generate platform-independent system applications using the Celoxica DK Design Suite.
