Celoxica has announced the DK1 design suite, software that enables a fundamentally new approach to the design of electronic hardware.
Celoxica offers a free go at FPGA design
Celoxica DK1 Eval is a free evaluation version of the Celoxica DK1 design suite that is restricted to compilations for simulation only, with no EDIF or VHDL output capability.
Increasing product complexity, time-to-market pressures and evolving display standards and formats motivated CPT to adopt ESL design from Celoxica.
To help deliver CPT's high-definition future the company will use Celoxica's HDTV development kit that comprises Celoxica's award winning DK Design Suite of system design tools, PixelStreams video and imaging IP library and fully integrated RC Series programmable development platforms.
This ESL solution coupled with CPT's display technology, manufacturing expertise and know-how will help the company accelerate its growth and business position in emerging HDTV markets and those growing due to regulation and government mandate.
"Through our testing programme we identified that we could successfully integrate design technology and IP from Celoxica as part of our overall product design strategy", said Dr Tai, Project Manager at TFT Business Unit.
"By making use of Celoxica's PixelStreams IP library we can almost immediately implement pre and post image processing on an RC340 development board that supports the HDTV(p) standard".
"This allows us to focus on our own proprietary algorithms and increase productivity".
CPT finalised their decision following the results of commercial project to enhance advanced HDTV back-projection.
Using the PixelStreams IP library and RC340 platform supplied with the HDTV development kit, pre-built functionality was rapidly verified and implemented.
CPTs proprietary algorithms were written in C code and implemented in parallel onto the board level hardware using the DK Design Suite.
Phil Bishop, president and CEO of Celoxica commented, "CPT is leading ESL design into yet another very high volume application and I am delighted that they have selected Celoxica as their system level design partner".
"The level of product complexity and time-to-market pressures that the HDTV business faces typifies the challenges that our ESL solutions can solve".
