Busy year for Bluetooth testing

BQTF accreditation, the validation of the company's BITE test system and the development of some very important international projects complete a great year for the Spanish company and a promising future ahead.

In March 2002, Cetecom received Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF) recognition for radio frequency conformance testing; and this has recently been extended to protocol and profile conformance testing capability.

The Bluetooth Qualification Review Board (BQRB) also validated the company's BITE Bluetooth qualification testers, certifying that BITE systems meet the specified requirements of the Bluetooth system specifications.

In July 2002, the BITE RF tester was validated in a record time of just two months.

With the recent validation of the BITE protocol/profile tester, Cetecom has consolidated its place as a first line supplier in the telecommunications conformance testers market.

Bluetooth conformance test cases will migrate to category A at the beginning of 2003, and this will have a great impact in the Bluetooth testing environment.

Bluetooth developers will have to go to accredited BQTFs and use validated systems in order to join the list of qualified products and put their products in the market using the official Bluetooth logo.

Cetecom has also co-operated with the Bluetooth SIG in the validation and maintenance of the test specifications and participated actively in several working groups and industry committees.

Finally, Cetecom has set up the first Bluetooth interoperability laboratory in Europe, to help manufacturers in product interoperability, and has expanded its international type approval service portfolio to offer smooth regulatory assistance in more than 70 countries.

All this makes Cetecom a real one stop technology centre for Bluetooth.

As a result of this broad scope of services and products, a number of important agreements have been signed during year 2002: Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), world leaders in Bluetooth silicon, has chosen Cetecom as its technology partner for Bluetooth testing services, including BQB and BQTF services and the supply of a BITE protocol/profile tester for its in-house lab.

Cetecom is supporting MET Laboratories in USA, SGS in Taiwan and PSB in Singapore to set up BQTFs, providing turnkey solutions which include the supply of BITE systems as well as comprehensive training and technical support.

Finally, Cetecom has delivered a good number of BITE systems worldwide, qualified some Bluetooth products and helped some leading manufacturers with type approvals.
