From the beginning of June 2004 new requirements for the PTCRB approval of mobile communications products will come into effect To receive the PTCRB certification, devices like mobile phones/handsets and integrated handheld portable devices will have to show compliance with the RF performance standards defined in the CTIA test plan for mobile stations over the air performance

In addition to the measuring of the effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) the scope of necessary measurements includes the measuring of the total radiated power (TRP) and the total isotropic sensitivity (TIS) as well.
