Cherry Electrical Products and Flexagonal Systems have signed a global agreement to provide all standard and advanced keyboards in the Cherry 14000 series with biometric authentication capabilities For use specifically with Cherry's FingerTip ID biometric series, Flexagonal's biometric security software addresses all network and remote access control needs including the use of fingerprints and smart card

These tools prevent the abuse and inherent insecurity of passwords which are usually chosen for their brevity and ease of recall - thus making them relatively easy to crack.

Says Peter Smith, Keyboard Sales Manager for Cherry: "The ever-increasing need for yet more passwords and PINs is creating administrative inefficiencies and security issues at all levels of computer use".

"This partnership will allow us to bring biometric security to a global market".
