Elliot Cohen has been appointed Director of Research and Development at Chip Express.

Elliot Cohen has been appointed Director of Research and Development at Chip Express Cohen is responsible for furthering development of the company's structured ASIC technology, and will oversee the activities of Chip Express (Israel), the company's R and D subsidiary

"Maintaining our current leading edge in structured ASIC technology is critical to the long-term success of the company", said Amnon Fisher, President and CEO of Chip Express.

"The appointment of Elliot Cohen as R and D Director will strengthen our ability to create innovative new technologies that address our customers' needs for faster time to prototype and to market".

Elliot Cohen is a proven engineering manager of large chip development groups, with experience in ASIC, RISC, DSP and VLSI design.

Prior to joining Chip Express, he was Vice President of Research and Development at MemCall, an Israeli company developing VLSI search processors for the layer 4-7 market.

Cohen also established and ran a chip design facility for ISD, and managed several architecture and chip design groups at IC Com (later Infineon).

Cohen spent nearly ten years with National Semiconductor in Israel, and began his career in microprocessor architecture at Bell Labs in New Jersey.

Cohen holds a Masters and BSc in electrical engineering with honours from Columbia University, and an Executive MBA with honours from Tel Aviv University.
