New from Chomerics is the Soft-Shield 5500 family of continuous-length EMI gaskets, which are designed to provide a low-cost solution for enclosure shielding or low-impedance grounding applications Consisting of a urethane foam core with an aluminium foil-fabric jacket and pressure-sensitive adhesive backing, Soft-Shield 5500 gaskets require a low closure force of less than 0.175N/mm, making them particularly suitable for use on thin-walled plastic enclosures

Tape sticks sinks without fasteners
The latest thermally conductive adhesive tape from Chomerics can significantly simplify PCB assembly by eliminating thermal grease and mechanical fasteners.
The gaskets have no sharp edges and do not produce any loose conductive fibres.
Soft-Shield 5500 EMI gaskets offer shielding effectiveness of greater than 70dB over the frequency range 50MHz to 10GHz.
Applied gaskets have a minimum adhesive peel strength of 0.7N/mm.
Their operating temperature range is -40 to +70C.
Available in a wide variety of profiles and sizes, Soft-Shield 5500 gaskets can be supplied in standard 2.43m lengths, cut-to-length strips or as individual stick-on buttons for grounding applications.
