Tape sticks sinks without fasteners
The latest thermally conductive adhesive tape from Chomerics can significantly simplify PCB assembly by eliminating thermal grease and mechanical fasteners.
The solvent free, electrically conductive material is formulated using nickel-plated graphite particles evenly dispersed in a one-part silicone elastomer.
Once applied to the target surface, Cho-Form 5541 is cured at a temperature of 140C for approximately 30min.
The cured material has a hardness value of 79 shore A, and a compression set of 39%.
Cho-Form 5541 has been developed to give a continuous shielding effectiveness in long term ageing environments of greater than 70dB between 200MHz and 10GHz.
The materials versatility is further enhanced by the fact that it can be applied directly to bare aluminium surfaces without the need for expensive plating.
Cho-Form 5541 meets UL94V1 flammability ratings and is suitable for use at temperatures up to 85C and in relative humidity of 85%.
Typical application areas include cellular basestations, shielded PCB covers and indoor enclosures.
