Andy McNair, Managing Director of Connect Scotland, said: "The companies seeking funding really have been very proactive this year, reflecting their confidence in themselves and the market".
"One reason for this increased activity is simply that there is now more money in the market for growth-stage companies than has been the case for some years".
"These businesses, many of which have been growing well through early revenue generation, are now looking for equity funding to take their operations to the next level".
"As a result, we are seeing a high proportion of entrepreneurs with experience, a proven track-record and an existing client base, who know what they want and are prepared to be quite selective about the investors they work with".
Since the inaugural Connect Investment Conference in 1997, the event has become an institution within the Scottish technology and investment communities.
It has helped 143 technology business become investor ready, 62% of which went on to receive funding totalling over GBP 220 million.
Eight of the companies which have presented at the CIC have subsequently floated, including such well-known names as Wolfson Microelectronics, MicroEmissive Displays and Stem Cell Sciences.
The total survival rate for CIC presenting companies is an impressive 69%.
