Transponder tunes in for extreme range
A novel 10Gbit/s widely tunable transponder has an optical dispersion tolerance enabling up to 600km reach.
New from Civcom, the TT600 is a 10Gbit/s widely tunable transponder with an optical dispersion tolerance enabling up to 600km reach Civcom increases its leadership position in performance by extending transmission reach to 600km, while still maintaining high performance at back-to-back and maximum reach in a low OSNR environment

As metro and regional rings increase in size, the cost of the first line deployment increases.
Using Civcom's advanced tunable optical dispersion compensation technology and its manageable dispersion compensation concept, the TT600 offers a cost saving DCF-less plug-and-play alternative for future designed networks.
This provides network implementation, cost reduction and storage area savings.
In existing networks, the TT600 can be a substitute to the countless fixed wavelength DWDM units employed in current telecomms systems, substantially reducing deployment costs.
With the TT600 tunable transponders installed, companies will now have the capability to begin providing 10Gigabit Ethernet and Sonet services, supporting DWDM metropolitan, regional and long haul network applications.
This innovative product is used to minimise size and cost, still enabling the widest possible tuning range in telecommunications equipment, operating in both the C-Band and L-Band frequencies and incorporates into a DWDM line card.
In addition, the TT600 contains a high speed dynamic power tracking circuit, enabling the receiver to handle large and fast incoming power, transient to the photodiode.
50GHz ITU grid wavelength spacing is available as well as various bit rates including SONET/SDH, 10G Ethernet, a fibre Channel, and a FEC application, containing up to 11.3Gbit/s.
Tuning the transponder wavelength and dispersion tolerance is possible through a standard I2C commands.
Using this product, Civcom can now offer its customers the opportunity to design their networks more efficiently with the latest state-of-the-art technology.
Civcom's TT600 10Gbit/s transponder is now available for sample order.
