A Clare Instruments product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jun 1, 2006

Clare Instruments has introduced a new service to ensure those involved in product type testing, conformance testing, quality control and production line safety testing meet the appropriate standards.

Electrical safety testing specialist Clare Instruments has introduced a new service to ensure those involved in product type testing, conformance testing, quality control and production line safety testing meet the appropriate regulatory and best practice standards.

The new "one stop shop" service provides free audit advice and safety assessments for electrical and electronic safety testing installations and locations.

It is aimed specifically at assisting electrical and electronics companies and organisations to meet the requirements of BS EN50191.

This standard defines the requirements for the erection and operation of electrical test equipment in the workplace and is regarded as best practice advice for the provision of essential protective measures in most electrical testing environments.

Clare's advisory service will seek to ensure that adequate protection against electric shock and residual voltages is provided as part of safe working practices.

The audit will also provide recommendations on protective measures, controls, emergency switching off procedures and staff competency in maintaining safe testing conditions.

The company's specialist test advisory team will provide a formal assessment of test area status against the BS EN50191 standard, together with final conclusions and recommendations on any actions required to achieve best practice working conditions.
