EDA companies combine to improve mask
consistency
A specialist in variability-aware analysis, and a provider of mask-reconfigurable technology, are to combine their expertise to reduce litho-related and stress-related variability in masks.
Clear Shape Technologies, a specialist in variability-aware analysis and optimisation, and Lightspeed Logic, a provider of mask-reconfigurable intellectual property (IP), are to combine their design, manufacturing, and EDA methodologies to reduce litho-related variability and stress-related variability in mask-reconfigurable IP at the 65nm and 45nm process nodes Lightspeed Logic provides mask-reconfigurable IP, a digital logic implementation technology that provides time to market, yield, manufacturability, and development expense advantages over standard-cell implementation

DFM optimisation claims complete coverage
Clear Shape Technologies has announced OutPerform, the first complete and silicon correlated electrical DFM analysis and optimisation product.
Clear Shape and Lightspeed will collaborate to verify the manufacturability of Lightspeed's mask-reconfigurable IP using Clear Shape's InShape model-based full-chip design manufacturability checker, enabling Lightspeed to improve yield and accurately accounting for systematic manufacturing variations.
"Our collaboration allows Lightspeed Logic's innovative technology to have manufacturability 'built-in' to the reconfigurable logic", says Atul Sharan, President and CEO of Clear Shape.
"Clear Shape's DFM tools allow Lightspeed to ensure that as many manufacturability issues as possible are dealt with in their configurable IP, thus dramatically easing the burden of DFM for their customers".
"We are extremely happy to collaborate with Clear Shape", says Dave Holt, CEO of Lightspeed Logic "As we searched for production-proven DFM solutions, we found Clear Shape to be the undisputed technology leader in this field".
"Clear Shape's endorsement from all the major foundry platforms, semiconductor manufacturers and their OPC-tool independence was extremely important for us".
