Modules make COTS convertors MIL-compliant

A Calex Electronics product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Apr 17, 2008

Modular approach allows system designers to meet stringent MIL-STD requirements while enjoying the benefits of commercial pricing.

Calex has developed a line of power modules that allow its commercial-off-the-shelf DC/DC convertors to be used in military and avionics applications.

The innovative, modular approach of the CBAM series allows the system designer to meet stringent MIL-STD requirements while enjoying the benefits of commercial pricing.

One example of the CBAM offering is the EFIL-28 filter module.

The EFIL-28 is designed for use with Calex DC/DC convertors and allows the system designer to comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-461E, CE101 and CE102.

The EFIL-28 is rated up to 200W and can provide filtering for up to two Calex DC/DC convertors.

Higher output power filters are available, contact the factory for details.

The EFIL-28 has an input range of 9.5 to 36V DC to accommodate 24 and 28Vsystems.

The module uses aluminium substrate technology and provides 99% efficiency.

The EFIL-28 provides an all ceramic solution for high reliability.

The unit is housed in a 58 x 61 x 13mm package.

Isolation from the baseplate to the pins is 700V DC.

The baseplate operating temperature range is -40 to +100C.

The EFIL-28 is available with either RoHS or non-RoHS construction.

Units are typically available from stock.
