The Commell FS-978 is a full-size PICMG platform based on the Intel 82865G and 82801EB chipset.

The Commell FS-978 is a full-size PICMG platform based on the Intel 82865G and 82801EB chipset The board features high-bandwidth interfaces, such as dual-channel DDR400 main memory, the latest Intel Pentium 4 processor of up to 3.2GHz+ clock speed on 800MHz FSB with hyper-threading technology, integrated graphics controller with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 technology, AGP8X graphics, Intel Communication Streaming Architecture featuring a dedicated network bus (DNB) interface for wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity to ensure the performance in data transfer

To meet varying display requirements, the FS-978 provides the MiniAGP interface to use addon cards to support LVDS/TMDS/TV/HDTV devices.

Commell also offers an ATI M10 VGA card to support the MiniAGP port.

This delivers premium 3D performance with vivid and cinematic quality graphics.

Additionally, the FS-978 is equipped with dual Serial ATA ports that provide a transfer datarate of 150Mbyte/s and easy hard drive upgrades.

FS-978 also uses the LSI Logic Fusion-MPT based Ultra320 SCSI controller, and the dual-channel LSI53C1030.

This is designed to double the data-transfer speed of current Ultra160 SCSI technology for optimal performance on both Windows and Linux servers and workstations.
