Company begins LED manufacturing in
Europe
Manufacturing products close to their target markets helps reduce the carbon footprint of the devices.
CML Innovative Technologies (CML-IT) is manufacturing their range of LED light engines (LEDules) in Europe By moving production from Costa Rica to their plants in Bamberg (Germany) and Hranice (Czech Republic), CML-IT puts in place its new 'green' policy of local manufacture to market and significantly reduces air miles for shipping and therefore the carbon footprint of their LED devices

Programme aims to simplify LED lighting
CML-IT's new ConnectandGlo programme is designed to make solid state lighting easy.
Another benefit are reduced lead times, making the move to low-power, long-life LED technology faster and simpler for CML-IT's European customers.
This could become even more important in the near future as a few European countries are thinking about banning the use of incandescent lamps, following the examples of Australia and California.
An ideal, environmentally friendly replacement for inefficient incandescent lamps, new "green" LEDules feature 1, 3, 4, 8, 9 or 14W power and a consistent unit-to-unit colour temperature.
Available colours are cool white, warm white, blue, cyan, green, amber and red.
A new RGB version (featuring red, green and blue LEDs) enabling subtle colour changing for 'mood' lighting applications has also been added to the range.
LEDules can include all the elements required to implement an LED-based lighting product - LED, lens, driver circuitry, heatsinking and packaging with several different fitting options - meaning designers only need to connect the devices to the appropriate power source.
Targeted at a wide range of general lighting applications, the range of 'green' LEDules is addressing key levels of SSL integration and is specifically aimed at OEMs using lighting in their designs.
Designed for use as spot-lights for point-of-purchase and cabinet/display case lighting or for general illumination applications such as architectural, landscape or task lighting, the LEDule family from CML-IT is ideal for customisation towards specific customer and application requirements.
