R and D helps smooth transition to lead
free
Nepcon UK will yet again host the launch of new products, as Concoat continues its R and D commitment to the industry.
Forthcoming environmental legislation, including the Reduction of Harmful Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives, defined by the European Union, will have a major impact on electronics manufacturing processes To assist companies with many of the issues they will face during this transition, Concoat has continued its extensive R and D efforts

Green conformal coating passes US military muster
Concoat has developed the world's first environment-friendly water-based conformal coating to achieve MIL-spec qualification.
Visitors to the 2004 stand at Nepcon are therefore assured of the very best products, plus advice to assist them in selecting the right solutions to meet their needs.
Concoat's unique HumiSeal 1H20 water-based conformal coating is now available in an aerosol.
HumiSeal 1H20 offers manufacturers several "green" benefits, and all without sacrificing performance.

Wizard takes guesswork out of oven profiling
The latest version of Concoat Systems' SoldaPro Wizard thermal profiling software makes determining optimum reflow profiles and corresponding oven settings easier than ever.
Thermal profilers set soldering temperatures
The SoldaPro range of thermal profilers can accurately and rapidly determine the oven or wavesoldering bath temperature settings required to optimise the soldering profile of any PCB assembly.
Solderability tester takes in smallest SMDs
The industry benchmark Must solderability tester has been improved to accommodate the enhanced test accuracy needs demanded by the smallest surface mount devices.
There are hazardous chemistries, it is practically solvent-free, extremely environment-friendly (by volume it mostly comprises water and compressed air), nonflammable and with no odour.
A major R and D breakthrough at Concoat has found a way to dramatically increase the maximum solids content that can be carried by a single conformal coating aerosol can by more than three times, primarily achieved by using leading-edge BoV "bag-on-valve" aerosol technology that simply replaces the flammable propellant with compressed air.
As a result an average aerosol can now offer tremendous application coverage and will coat 1.2m2, completely changing the entire cost proposition of using aerosols.
1H20 water-based conformal coating material is UL (pending) and MIL-spec qualified.
Synergie CKB401 flux cleaning media is chemically engineered to offer both superior cleaning performance over existing cleaning materials, allied with superior environment-friendliness.
CKB401 is designed for use with aqueous batch cleaning operations and is also available in aerosol brush format, as part of a convenient manual cleaning kit that comprises 200ml aerosol with brush attachment, 50ml aerosol with brush rinse and a 400ml air duster, useful for ad-hoc or localised cleaning.
CKB401 will address manufacturing issues raised by new environmental legislation, including the Reduction of Harmful Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directives, to provide manufacturers with long term peace of mind.
Demonstrated in the lead-free area at last years Nepcon, the MUST System II Plus enables fast and accurate solderability testing of surface mount, through-hole devices, PCB pads and plated through-holes, plus laboratory testing of surface finishes, fluxes and other soldering materials.
The MUST System II Plus greatly improves its operational productivity by reducing the steps necessary to complete solderability testing tasks, and offers improved reproducibility of test results thanks to an enhanced alignment accuracy capability.
The system incorporates an easy-to-use Windows XPR Software operating system as standard, and is available as an upgrade for users of earlier systems based on the former MS DOS operating system.
Together with heavily revised firmware, this significantly simplifies and speeds many operational tasks and procedures.
